Turn a lecture into exercises

Paste lecture notes or slides and AI can draft practice exercises that match what was actually taught.

After a lecture, students often have notes and slides but nothing to practise with. Teachers and students alike can fix that with AI.

Paste the slides or notes and ask for exercises tied to them: short problems, fill-in-the-gap sentences, a real-life scenario to solve, a mistake to find. Ask that every exercise uses only ideas from the lecture.

Ask for worked solutions, kept separate, so students can try first and check after. For maths and science, check the solutions carefully. Models still make calculation errors.

Students can use this for self study: paste your own lecture notes, ask for exercises, do them, then ask for feedback. It is one of the fastest ways to find out what you did not understand.

Do it now

Six exercises from one lecture

  1. 1. Find the slides or notes from a recent lecture or training.
  2. 2. Paste them into the prompt below.
  3. 3. Do two exercises before reading the solutions.
Here are the notes or slides from a lecture on [TOPIC]: [PASTE].
Write 6 exercises using only ideas from this material: 2 short problems, 2 fill-in-the-gap, 1 real-life scenario, 1 find-the-mistake.
Put worked solutions in a separate section at the end, under the heading SOLUTIONS.

Quick check

Why keep the solutions in a separate section?

Words from this lesson

Grounding
Tying an AI's answer to real sources you supply or it looks up, so claims can be checked instead of invented.
Hallucination
When an AI states something false with confidence, such as a made-up fact, quote or source.
