Understand AI in a minute.
Use it the minute after.
Short lessons that explain one AI idea in plain words, let you play with it, then hand you one thing to do today. No maths, no hype, no videos to sit through.
Be the chatbot for ten seconds.
Every chatbot does one thing: guess the next word, again and again. Press Sample, then drag the temperature and watch the odds change.
Guess the next word
Press Sample to let the AI add one word at a time. Then slide the temperature and try again.
The best thing about Monday is
What could come next
- the37%
- coffee22%
- that18%
- it11%
- nothing7%
- lunch5%
The AI never “knows” the next word. It gives every possible word a score, turns the scores into odds, then rolls weighted dice. Temperature changes how lopsided the dice are: at 0 it always takes the favourite, so you get the same sentence every time; turned up, long shots get a real chance and the writing gets surprising.

Lessons you can touch
Each of these has a live toy. Move a slider, make a guess, see the idea happen.
- 03What a chatbot really does1 min · Live toy A chatbot writes its answer one small piece at a time, each time picking a likely next word.
- 04Tokens: how AI reads1 min · Live toy AI does not read words; it reads tokens, small chunks of text that are often parts of words.
- 05Why AI makes things up2 min · Live toy AI is built to produce a likely answer, not a true one, so sometimes it confidently invents facts.
- 07The four-part prompt2 min · Live toy Good answers come from prompts with four parts: a role, a task, some context, and a format.
- 15Spot AI-powered scams2 min · Live toy Scammers now use AI to write perfect messages, so good grammar is no longer a sign that a message is real.
- 26AI agents: AI that takes action2 min · Live toy An agent is AI that does not just answer but takes steps: it plans, uses tools, checks the result, and keeps going.
