Where is the AI hiding?
You probably used AI a dozen times today without noticing. Here are four ordinary places. Tap anything that looks interesting and I'll show you what's going on inside.
Kit
There are 24 AI uses to find, plus a few things that only look clever. Opening one counts as finding it, and I remember what you've found in this browser.

How to spot AI in the wild

Once you see the pattern, you'll notice it everywhere. Here's the check I use.
01
It learned from examples
Nobody wrote a rule for every face, every scam or every traffic jam. The system was shown many examples and found the patterns itself. That's the difference from the calculator or the kettle.
02
It makes a guess
Most of these are predictions: this is probably your face, this message is probably spam, you'll probably arrive at 12:40. A guess can be wrong, which is why a PIN, a human check or your own eyes still matter.
03
It runs on data about you
Your face, voice, routes, purchases and viewing habits make these features work. It's worth knowing which settings let you see, limit or delete that data.
04
It works quietly
Good AI features rarely announce themselves. When a price changes, a message disappears or an app knows what you want, it's fair to ask: what did it learn, and from whom?
