Household business bookkeeping with AI

AI can help a household business keep simple, tidy books, while tax rules and filings stay with the tax office or an accountant.

Many family businesses keep money in their heads: what came in from the shop, what went out for stock, what the family took for itself. When it is time to declare or to see whether the shop really makes money, nobody is sure.

AI can help you set up a simple book. Ask a chatbot to design a spreadsheet with columns for date, money in, money out, what it was for, and how it was paid: cash, bank transfer or QR. It can also write the formulas for monthly totals.

Once a week, paste your rough notes and ask it to sort them into the right columns. Keep business money and family money in separate lines, even if they share one pocket.

Tax rules for household businesses have been changing in Vietnam, and a chatbot may know an older version. For what you must declare, how and when, ask your local tax office or an accountant, and keep the receipts.

Do it now

Set up a one-page money book

  1. 1. Open Google Sheets or Excel on your phone or computer.
  2. 2. Ask a chatbot for the layout with the prompt below.
  3. 3. Enter last week's money in and out, and check that the totals match your own count.
I run a small household business selling [WHAT]. Design a simple spreadsheet to track money in and money out each day. Give me the column names, two example rows in dong, and formulas for weekly and monthly totals in Google Sheets. Keep business and personal spending separate. Do not give tax advice.
