Lesson 100 · 2 min

Take better notes with AI

Take your own rough notes first, then let AI tidy, organise and quiz you on them, so writing them still does its job.

Writing notes in your own words is part of how you learn. If AI writes all your notes for you, you get a tidy page and skip that part.

A balanced way: take quick, messy notes during the class or meeting. Afterwards, paste them in and ask AI to organise them under headings, fill in obvious abbreviations, and mark anything that seems unclear or contradictory.

Ask it to add three questions at the end that check the main ideas. Answering them later is a quick review.

Watch for additions. AI may "helpfully" add facts that were never said. Ask it to put anything not from your notes in [brackets], so you can check those separately.

Do it now

Tidy one set of notes

  1. 1. Find notes from a recent class, meeting or video.
  2. 2. Paste them into the prompt below.
  3. 3. Check every [bracketed] addition before keeping it.
Here are my rough notes from [CLASS OR MEETING]: [PASTE].
Organise them under clear headings. Keep my wording where possible.
Put anything you add that is not in my notes in [brackets].
List anything that seems unclear or contradictory, then end with 3 review questions.

When an AI states something false with confidence, such as a made-up fact, quote or source.
Grounding
