Lesson 145 · 2 min
Using AI safely for money questions
AI is good at explaining money ideas and doing simple sums, but it does not know your full situation, may use old numbers, and must never get your account access.

Useful tasks: explaining what an interest rate or a fee means, comparing two loan offers you paste in, building a simple monthly budget, or making a list of questions for a bank.
Limits: interest rates, taxes and rules change, and the AI may give old or invented figures. It cannot judge which product is best for you without knowing your goals and risks.
Never give a chatbot your banking password, card number or one-time codes, and be wary of any "AI advisor" that pushes you toward one product or platform.
For big decisions like loans, insurance or investments, check the current numbers with the bank or official sources and talk to a licensed adviser.
Do it now
Compare two offers with AI
- 1. Collect two loan or savings offers, with only the terms (no personal details).
- 2. Paste them into a chatbot with the prompt below.
- 3. Check every number it uses against the original offers.
Here are two offers: [PASTE TERMS ONLY]. Explain the difference in simple words and show the total cost of each over the full term, step by step. Point out any fees I might miss, and list questions I should ask the bank.
