Shop on a budget

AI can plan a cheaper shopping list, but it does not know today's prices at your market, so you bring those.

Food prices move with the season, the weather and the run-up to Tết. A chatbot learned from data up to a certain date and does not see the prices at your local market or supermarket today.

So give it the facts. Tell it your weekly budget in VND, how many people you feed, and the prices you saw this week for your usual items. Now it can build a list that fits.

Ask for swaps: cheaper cuts, seasonal vegetables, eggs and tofu in place of some meat, buying rice in a larger bag if you have room. Ask it to group the list by stall or aisle so you spend less time and buy fewer extras.

Treat its totals as rough. Add them up again yourself, and keep the receipt so next week's list starts from real numbers.

Do it now

Make a list that fits your budget

  1. 1. Write down this week's prices for 8 to 10 things you buy often.
  2. 2. Paste them with the prompt below.
  3. 3. Shop with the list and note what you actually paid.
  4. 4. Next week, send the real prices back and ask it to adjust.
I feed [number] people and have [amount] VND for food this week. Here are prices I saw this week: [list]. Make a shopping list that stays under budget, with cheaper swaps where possible, grouped by market stall or supermarket aisle. Use only the prices I gave you, and mark any item where you had to guess.

Prompt
The instruction or question you give an AI. Clearer prompts with context usually get much better answers.
Knowledge cutoff
The date after which a model learned nothing new. Unless it can search the web, it may not know recent events.
